Stage Acting

This fun and engaging Stage Acting Class introduces students to the exciting world of theater. Students will develop confidence, creativity, communication skills, and teamwork while learning the fundamentals of performing on stage.

Through acting games, improvisation, movement activities, character development, vocal exercises, and scene work, students will learn how to express themselves, work as an ensemble, and bring characters and stories to life. The class provides a supportive and encouraging environment where students of all experience levels can participate, take creative risks, and discover the joy of performing.

Throughout the class, students will build their skills progressively, beginning with theater basics and gradually moving into character development, script work, improvisation, blocking, and performance preparation. The class will conclude with a short performance or showcase that allows students to demonstrate the skills they have developed.

The primary objective of this Stage Acting Class is to introduce students to the fundamental skills of stage performance while helping them develop confidence, creativity, communication, and collaboration.

By the end of the course, students will:

• Learn basic stage acting terminology and techniques.

• Develop confidence in speaking and performing in front of others.

• Practice projecting their voices and using clear speech.

• Explore facial expressions, body language, movement, and stage presence.

• Learn how to create and develop believable characters.

• Participate in improvisation and theater games.

• Learn how to read, understand, and perform a scripted scene.

• Practice memorization and delivering lines.

• Learn basic stage directions, blocking, and positioning.

• Develop listening and cooperation skills through ensemble activities.

• Learn how to respond to scene partners and work as part of a cast.

• Explore creativity through storytelling and role-play.

• Develop the ability to make confident and appropriate performance choices.

• Gain experience rehearsing and preparing for a final performance.

The goal is to create a positive theater experience where students can play, create, explore, and perform while developing skills that extend beyond the stage. Students will leave the class with a greater understanding of theater, increased confidence in expressing themselves, and an appreciation for the importance of teamwork and creativity.
